In a joint operation, the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) and the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City executed four search warrants in the Cuauhtémoc borough, resulting in the detention of three men and one woman allegedly involved in the sale of counterfeit documents through a messaging application.
Investigations revealed that this criminal group offered official credentials, driver's licenses, passports, visas, and other documents through digital networks, sending them via courier companies. It was also discovered that they stored drugs for retail sale in four properties located in the Centro neighborhood.
With search warrants granted by a judge, agents from the SSC and FGJ, in coordination with the National Defense (SEDENA), the Navy (SEMAR), and the National Guard (GN), raided properties located on Palma Norte, República de Chile, and Tacuba streets. During the searches, drugs such as methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, firearms, counterfeiting materials, and various fake documents were seized.
The detainees, a 47-year-old woman and three men aged 18, 27, and 37, were informed of their rights and were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry in the Relevant Matters Prosecutor's Office, where their legal situation will be defined. The properties were secured under police protection while authorities continue investigations to completely dismantle the network of counterfeiting and sale of counterfeit documents in the capital.
